Holidays in Laos
Laos is a dreamlike royal city. It was once known as "The real of a million elephants". Laos offers a mountainous and landlocked destination as it shares borders with Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the south, Thailand to the west, and Myanmar and China to the north. Despite its small population, Laos has 49 ethnic groups, or tribes, from which Lao, Khmou and Hmong constitute approximately three-quarters of the population. The capital, Vientiane, originated at the point at which the first navigable section of the Mekong River joins with the Gulf Of Thailand, once an important trading route to South China. In Laos, there are over 30 monasteries that houses seven hundred monks and more. Laos is one of the most fascinating countries in South East Asia: a tranquil paradise that is slowly booming. It is a land trapped somewhere between ancient traditions and a modern way of living.
